One of the many exciting parts of Super Bowl 50 was a touchdown scored by Carolina Panthers veteran running back Jonathan Stewart. As the first points scored for his team, Stewart felt inclined to give a little touchdown dance.
Several websites claim that Stewart’s dance was inspired by the hand jive from Grease. But any Hebrew school student could tell you that Stewart was clearing doing the hand motions for the song “David Melech Yisrael.” And the Twittersphere agreed.
Did panthers player, Jonathan Stewart just do the David Melech Yisrael; Chai, Chai, Vekayam song dance? Anyone catch that? #SB50

Every good Jew knows that the Jonathan Stewart touchdown dance was just David Melech Yisrael

If you still don’t believe us, we synced up the song with the video on your behalf.
Based on our intensive internet research (approximately two Wikipedia checks), we could not figure out whether or not Jonathan Stewart is a member of the tribe. Nonetheless it certainly feels like the most Jewish part of the Super Bowl, other than the annual procession of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
