This week, Donald Trump made a visit to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) annual Policy Conference in hopes to impress Jewish and pro-Israel voters, or “look more presidential,” as Politico puts it. During election years, AIPAC invites presidential candidates to speak at the conference, thus Ted Cruz, John Kasich, and Hillary Clinton all spoke as well. But Trump’s speech was the most controversial, causing protests and even criticism from AIPAC’s leaders.
Since the start of his campaign, Donald Trump has been compared to numerous figures, including Adolf Hitler, Ronald Reagan, and Benito Mussolini. But so far very few comparisons have been made to Haman the Agagite, the villain of Purim. But why not? They’re both unethical, xenophobic, and egotistical.
At times, it may be tough to differentiate between Donald Trump and Haman. That is why we prepared a quiz to see if you know who said what.
Please note, as Haman was not the most prolific speaker in the original Megillat Esther, our Haman quotes come from the 2006 movie One Night with the King, as portrayed by actor James Callis.
If after playing the quiz you’re still not convinced of these two figures’ similarities, we invite you to watch this recent Purim spiel.
